Kanha Shantivanam 5th December 2023

Meditation invites us to be meditative all 24 hours otherwise it does not make any difference in our lives.

Daaji told an anecdote from his youth days while he was studying in pharmacy college in Ahmedabad. It was vacation time and he had come home to his village. Sitting with his father he asked him once, " Bapuji, what will I tell your future grandchildren someday, about your experience of God? Please tell me something about your experience. I remember my father would go for hours to the temple in the morning and perform his puja in the evening at home too. He had no answer to that at that time. Then after some time he started meditation. This was followed by my mother and sisters who also began the practice of mediation.”

Around 10 am Daaji came to one of the satellite buildings where he met with the members of the Farmer Producer Organizations (FPO). 120 participants from different villages of the state of Gujarat had come to Kanha to undergo FPO training. Daaji conducted the meditation from 10.12 am to 10.35 am. Later he gave a talk and then answered a few questions

Daaji spoke about the Plasma Water experiment which is being conducted in Kanha. He asked them to experiment with it themselves. Daaji spoke about the various utilities of Plasma water. He said how he felt that one machine could be present in every village.

Going on towards spiritual matters he spoke on what is called the sixth sense. After doing the Brighter Minds program, we see children can perceive things even when blindfolded. Using the sixth sense means that we are not using the regular five senses. When we meditate in super consciousness, then even without effort the higher knowledge comes down on us. If we develop deservingness with simplicity and purity, then God himself comes looking for us. In their hearts, heaven descends.

Meditation invites us to be meditative all 24 hours otherwise it does not make any difference in our lives.

There were no temples in Vedic times. Because then people were able to experience God within themselves and in Nature. Nowadays we make the mistake of not relying on our own experience. If we can feel the presence of the Divine in our hearts, throughout the 24 hours of a day, then would we need to search for God outside? If you go looking for someone outside when your wife is sitting at home she is likely to get rather upset. Similarly for God, if he is within then why look for God outside? That is why it is clearly said in the Bhagavad Gita that we should seek God in our hearts.

I have found over hundreds of references in the holy scriptures where it is said that God is in our hearts. And we have stopped looking into our hearts. Perhaps we are afraid of acknowledging God’s presence in ourselves because it would stop us from fulfilling our base desires. He explained patiently the ideas of going from an understanding of God in the formless from the one in the form of an idol or with attributes. He also warned them that there was no need to go back to their village and discuss such high ideals because people would not be able to grasp them. Instead, they could just invite their friends and family to try meditation. Discussion would not lead to anything.

In the evening, Daaji immersed himself in the soulful strains of enchanting music, humming along to the tunes that spoke to his heart.

Later on, brothers Ramakantha and Sairam joined him in the office room, engaging in conversations about the diverse activities Heartfulness is undertaking in the realms of agriculture and tissue culture, and then he met a few more practitioners

Later, Daaji stepped out for a walk, accompanied by them. In the dim light, he cautioned everyone to tread carefully, mindful of the snails that often adorned the path.

That evening the room echoed with animated conversations, recalling Daaji's days in the U.S. and shared moments with fellow practitioners. In a heartwarming gesture, Daaji reminisced about Rohit bhai, his childhood friend and practitioner by sharing anecdotes from yesteryears. The day ended with the room resonating with laughter and cherished memories, a harmonious echo of the bonds that connect us all.
