Kanha Shantivanam 27th December 2023

Brothers Vamsi Challagula and Adinarayan came to meet him. Brother Adinarayan looks after the main kitchen at Kanha. He handed over to Daaji a beautiful musical instrument the ‘Veena’.

Q. What is the meaning of life and death? What will happen after death? Is it my karma that I finally met Heartfulness meditation after spending so much time studying other spiritual practices?

A. Thank God we are here. Let's not find what made us come here or why we are here. My Master explained that at the moment of death based on our energy field we go to that dimension that matches our energy field. Can I temporarily feel love for God at the moment of death hoping that it will deliver me into the highest dimension? I cannot fabricate my energy field. It is something that I have cultivated all my life. I have to continuously keep changing my inner nature, my inner energy field, my inner purity.

In India, we have this peculiar custom that we keep our children’s names after names of deities so that when on the death bed if we call for our children with those given names, we might reach heaven! You are fooling yourself if you do this.

In the morning Santosh Khanjee and Shreyas Khanjee joined Daaji when he was out on his morning walk. After breakfast, Daaji spent some time with his grandchildren Layaa and Nanak. Brothers Vamsi Challagula and Adinarayan came to meet him. Brother Adinarayan looks after the main kitchen at Kanha. He handed over to Daaji a beautiful musical instrument the ‘Veena’.

Around 11.40 am Daaji gave a sitting to Rajesh Ivaturi and Emma Ivaturi.

In the evening Daaji came to the South side satellite building near the meditation hall around 7.10 pm to meet the group of Korean abhyasis. He conducted meditation from 7.17 pm to 7.42 pm. He then answered questions from the group. This group of Korean abhyasis were being trained to become Heartfulness trainers.

Q: I am a counselor. Many teenagers sell drugs in Korea. How can I help them?

A. First of all, be kind to them. There is no need to criticize them because they are already feeling the pain.

Suggest gently the scenario, that you are now 90 years of age and you are a grandmother and grandfather. Your granddaughter and grandson come to you and say Grandpa come and say give me your credit card. I want to buy drugs and party all night. Will you give your credit card to them? They will understand this very well. If you as a father or grandfather would not allow your children to buy drugs or indulge in these things, how do you live with this and give so much pain to your parents?

More than that there is a lot of work at the spiritual level to bring about change. You all will become preceptors. The biggest strength we all have as preceptors is that we have the power and energy that we can transmit with suggestions. These suggestions aided by transmission are very effective in removing any defect in a person. The heart is cleaned and the individual mind is connected to the Absolute.

Q. A friend is skeptical about meditation. Is it helpful to transmit to him?

A. Don’t try to convince the person. If you are sleeping and your mother wakes you up, you will ask her what is the emergency, why are you waking me up? Similarly, if we wake up a person who is sleeping, they will get angry. Let them be. Just pray and imagine they are walking towards Divinity. Send out the suggestion gently that they are being attracted towards the Source. It will help them.

Q. For the evolution of consciousness, we need to refine the ego. How to distinguish between suppressing the ego and refining it?

A. People think that the mind and the ego are enemies. But both can be of great help. If we have unwanted thoughts during meditation we wonder what's wrong with the mind. But without the mind, we cannot have good thoughts. Meditation regulates the mind.

Meditation transforms the ego into identifying oneself with God. Simply put Spirituality is all about moving my center from my individual level to that of God. When God becomes the centre of our existence then the ego will not trouble us. Then we do everything for the love of God not for the self. Then we will not form impressions because we are working in God’s remembrance.

If you are a painter or a musician and performed wonderfully then would you not want to improve upon your current performance for the next time? That is not ego. It is a force that makes us improve ourselves. Should I suppress my ego at such a time? No.

We express it through our talent and creativity. To think that we are the best among all is egoistic. It is a negative way of expressing the ego. So when we do anything with the thought that we are doing it for God, it helps. If we do it for ourselves then the negative aspect of ego gains prominence. Arrogance, pride, and negative ego must be suppressed.

Q. How much karma can you clean in one lifetime since there is only a certain amount of karma that a person can tackle in one lifetime?

A. If you want to clean your karma it can take an infinite number of lifetimes or a single lifetime. Depends on our attitude. I'll tell you a story shared by my Master. Once upon a time, there was a sage who came down from heaven and on his way met another sage meditating under a beautiful tree. The sage said since you are a messenger of God, can you please ask him when will I be liberated since I have been meditating for my entire life. The sage immediately connected with God and asked this question. God said, “In three lives”. Afterward, he moves on and finds a mad person, dancing under a tree. This man was singing, “God is great. All is good, etc”. He also asked God, saying when he would be liberated.

God said, “You see the leaves on this tree? Well you will need to undergo the effects of your impressions for those many lives and then you will be liberated”. So he started dancing even more that he was so happy that when all the leaves would be gone he would be liberated. He was so happy. So God announced that his attitude was just right, he was liberated here and now. No more future lives would be needed.

But my problem is not about liberation or not having a next life. Life here may be over but existence continues. This life is an opportunity to evolve, don't let it go by being preoccupied with worries. Give all up to God in surrender. We surrender only bad things. We have to surrender even good things.

We need to cultivate loving detachment. We do our cleaning to remove the impurities accumulated over the day. Preceptors help to clean all that is accumulated since birth. And when we attend big celebrations or are in the presence of the Master he takes the responsibility to remove our karma from past lives.

So as abhyasis, we should at least do our daily cleaning so that we do not allow daily karma to accumulate in our lives.

Let me explain with the example of a magnet. It naturally attracts iron. It just happens naturally and if I have a magnet and I bring gold or soil or wood or silver near it - it won't attract it. Just naturally it will come together like a lock and key when a magnet and iron are brought in proximity of one other..

So the purity of my energy field, at the time of my death will automatically take me to that dimension which matches that. For example, when you travel by air you will see some fog and clouds and some colored clouds. Those are simply layers, the denser ones remaining nearer to the Earth. The clouds on the top layers are very light. You do not even see them but some moisture is there.

Heavier souls with loads of karma tend to remain closer to this dimension and are born again and again. The lighter the karma on the soul, the higher the dimension it goes to. People like the Buddha, go on to very high levels of dimensions. If he has to come back to this life, he has to find a mother and father matching his dimensions.

He will find it extremely difficult to find such a mother. And similarly, souls like Hitler are very gross, how would he find a mother with such terrible grossness or karma? But people in between these two extremes, come and go more rapidly. They die and in a few seconds, they are reborn somewhere else.

Then Daaji paused the evening’s session saying that they were all invited to dinner the next day at his place and that they would continue the conversation there.

While walking back to his car there were many practitioners lined up to meet Daaji. He spoke to all patiently and then got into his car. He then asked a couple of Koreans to join dinner at his home
