On the way, he met many practitioners who were eagerly waiting for him. In a short time, there were so many people gathered outside that they blocked the way for Daaji to leave. With much difficulty, Daaji had to request everyone to kindly make some space so that he could shut the door of his car to be able to leave.
This situation which is observed repeatedly is perhaps a testimonial to our lack of effort in putting our Beloved Daaji’s principal instructions into practice. He has so often shown us that we need to cultivate our character in such a way to be able to develop Pratyahara and intensify interiorization. It is difficult for Daaji to keep reminding everyone how it is best to interiorize the Master’s presence instead of trying to seek his attention on the outside which is counter-productive to our spiritual progress.
How difficult must it be for him to see us oblivious to his instructions, rushing towards him to greet him or ask him for his blessings or some advice? The other day, a sister came to him and bowed her head saying Daaji - can you please give me some blessings? Daaji said, “Sure. Where is your bag?” At times all he can do is to resort to humour hoping it will help us see the meaning behind it.
With such patience, he tries his level best to satisfy those who come to him. People come with their problems, on the occasion of their birthdays, death of loved ones, marriage anniversaries, etc. insisting on taking photographs with him, asking him to offer prasad for them, keeping the interaction with him active at a mundane level. In such circumstances, the inner resonance with him can be more difficult to attend to with as much care as is needed.
