Kanha Shantivanam 20th October 2023

Kanha Shantivanam 20th October 2023

It was a day resplendent with warmth, knowledge, and the beautiful spirit of generosity.

On the topic of changing oneself Daaji said, “Either you want to change Or you don't want to change, there are two situations. If you don't want to change, even God cannot change you. And if the change is desired from inside you, even God cannot stop you from changing. So, it's always up to us. The weakness of Hinduism is that we leave everything to God and we relieve ourselves from responsibilities of right. Now we transfer it on gurus. That's also wrong. If gurus were all capable, then Lord Krishna would have changed the world during his lifetime. Well, it's not happening. Because God gave everybody the freedom, freedom to do right, freedom to do wrong, whatever it is because this is our business.”

Daaji had an important meeting in the morning with the Educational Minister of Tamil Nadu, Anbil Mahesh, and his family. Over breakfast, Daaji presented them with a set of books: the Complete Works of Shri Ram Chandra (Babuji) and Spiritual Anatomy, which is planned to be released on 24 October 2023 in the US.

Daaji then gave them a tour of his home. The guests were captivated by the architectural design seamlessly integrated with nature, surrounded by rocks and trees.

As they perused some photos from Daaji's younger days, Mrs. Janani (the minister’s wife) humorously quipped that in his younger days he looked like the Tamil hero, Suriya. Daaji gave a hearty laugh at the likeness.

With great warmth and hospitality Daaji took his guests on a leisurely walk around his home. During the walk, Daaji shared his extensive knowledge of trees and plants, explaining their significance. The guests were deeply impressed by his botanical wisdom.

Daaji accompanied them to the hydroponics farm in Kanha and explained the innovative techniques used there to grow crops. Mrs. Janani shared her own experiments with hydroponics at home, which, despite her efforts, had not succeeded. Daaji encouraged her, saying, "You can learn while you're here; it's very easy." He even offered to provide seeds and plants for them to begin their hydroponics journey.

During the tour, Daaji introduced his guests to a mosquito trap, an invention from Kanha, which is widely used across the ashram. The visitors were highly impressed by the innovation.

Back inside the house, Daaji showed them the architectural work on the Karyagari (the interior designs). He mentioned that the Karyagari is primarily crafted by skilled artisans from Tamil Nadu. He also pointed out that a significant number of people around him, including his two closest aides, Kannan and Sakthi, hailed from Tamil Nadu.

Daaji generously offered to lead a meditation session from 9.41 am to 10.08 am. After the meditation session, Daaji encouraged the minister's children to explore scientific experiments, such as studying the effect of phones on the blood cells and observing how sprouts behave in different environments. Their enthusiasm was palpable, with one child aspiring to become a scientist and work on such fascinating subjects. He then pointed that it will be great if these kinds of experiments are made mandatory in all the schools so that children will come to know the adverse effects of mobile radiation.

While these interactions were transpiring, a family from Tirunelveli had arrived, driven by a heartfelt desire to donate a portion of their land to the ashram. It had been their father's dream to establish an ashram, which he couldn't fulfil in his lifetime. The son and his wife had now come forward to fulfil his dream and with great eagerness presented the documents to Daaji. Touched by their generosity, Daaji thanked them and offered them chocolates as prasad.

A warm conversation ensued over tea, where Daaji graciously took photographs with the family, creating cherished memories. On the topic of changing oneself Daaji said, “Either you want to change Or you don't want to change, there are two situations. If you don't want to change, even God cannot change you. And if the change is desired from inside yomu, even God cannot stop you from changing.

While bidding farewell, Daaji glanced at the microgreen seeds and the grow kit. He immediately addressed Mrs. Janani and encouraged her to learn how to grow them. She eagerly agreed and noted down the contact number and other details. Daaji assured her that she could easily learn while staying in Kanha and went ahead to provide a demonstration. The family left with immense gratitude, deeply appreciating Daaji's precious time and guidance.

In the evening, Daaji went for his usual walk around Gokul point. Later in the evening, Br. Jacque and Sis. Florence joined Daaji for dinner. The couple was celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They were surprised and full of joy to see a cake waiting for them at their arrival.

It was a day resplendent with warmth, knowledge and the beautiful spirit of generosity.
