Today morning, Daaji woke up feeling unwell with a throat infection. The previous day had been so very intense.
Each time he is unwell he never fails to thoughtfully wear a mask, being concerned for those whom he meets. Daaji had a discussion with the agriculture scientist and center coordinator Brother Sairam and a few other people. Two highly medicinal plants were presented to Daaji on this day, the Red Aloe Vera and Eka Bilvam, which is considered to be a divine tree. Botanically it is called Aegle marmelos and belongs to the family Rutaceae. It's called Bilva or Sriphal in Sanskrit; Bel, Bael Sripal, Bilva, Bilpatre in Hindi; Bael or stone apple in English. This tree of Indian origin is traditionally associated with Shiva temples. All parts of this tree are medicinally useful in various ways.
Red Aloe Vera (Aloe cameronii), is a type of succulent native to Africa. This plant, characterized by its vibrant copper-red leaves, can only grow in a few specific hot, arid regions of India. This makes Red Aloe Vera, a much sought-after and very rare plant in India. Red Aloe Vera is also called the king of the Aloe Vera family. Red Aloe Vera leaves are rich in antioxidants like Vitamin A (β-carotene), Vitamins C and E, B12, and Folic Acid. Aloe-emodin and aloin, the two phytochemicals found in the Red Aloe Vera provide powerful anti-inflammatory benefits, making it a potential treatment for superficial first-degree burns, other skin conditions like atopic dermatitis, or rashes.
Daaji was very happy to receive these plants. He fondly recollected Pujya Yogrishi Baba Ramdev’s words: “we need to keep the ATM formula for our health. A for Aloe Vera, T for Turmeric, and M for Methi!”
In a separate conversation, Daaji made a profound point saying “There is no need of lives to evolve life, we need to cultivate values in us to evolve life”.
