Kanha Shantivanam 9th March 2024

Daaji envisioned a future where different spiritual organizations work together like a bouquet of fragrant flowers, symbolizing unity and progress. He underscored the ultimate goal of embracing the entire universe with love and unity, starting with humanity.

The idea is to spread love, peace, and unity universally in the next 25 years (Amrit Kaal). In line with this, he said, "We have met several times in Delhi with spiritual teachers of different religions, which gave shape to the Global Spiritual Mahotsav from March 14 to 17 at Kanha Shanti Vanam under the joint auspices of the Department of Culture and `World Headquarters of Heartfulness.

All the scholars and participants of the International Scholars program of Heartfulness were assembled backstage by 9.30 am for the group picture with Daaji. Daaji reached a little earlier and then greeted all of them and posed for the group photo. He then spoke to others there and went inside his office to meet a few guests.

Daaji was informed of the visits made by the Maharashtra team to extend invitations to individuals to participate in the Global Spirituality Mahotsav. When the team told Daaji about their visit to Shri Niranjan Nath Ji, Trustee of the Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Sansthan Temple, Daaji was curious to know more about the Nath Yogi lineage. A little later, Daaji then conducted the meditation for all. While coming out, Daaji posed for one more group photo with scholars, as brother Alberto the director was missing earlier, and then went back home to get ready for the press conference.

Daaji started from Kanha at 11 am to the Taj Krishna Hotel to attend the Global Spirituality Mahotsav press conference along with his grandchildren, Devki and Nanak. After Daaji reached the room prepared for him in Tak Krishna, Mrs. Sailaja Kiron met Daaji and had a nice conversation with him.

Speaking on destiny Daaji said, “Anyone can change your destiny. Anyone can influence it. Troubles can come to anyone, but to remain unhappy about them is our choice. And that is why we need to have a mind that is so cultivated that we can deflect what comes towards us. Like in badminton, you keep on anticipating the shuttle. So like that, if there is a problem, that comes your way, you can shoot it out. Keep deflecting. And only a meditative mind, I think, can manage to do that. And not make it part of your awareness; otherwise, you gravitate to your lowest, for no reason or rhyme from your side.”.

A little later, Swathi Chalamalasetty (Greenko Group) joined Daaji in the room. Daaji then conducted the meditation for the members present in the room. After the meditation session, the Hon'ble Minister of Culture of India, Shri Kishan Reddy, Swami Bodhamayananda of the Ramakrishna Mission Hyderabad Chapter, and Swami Chinna Jeeyar ji came and met with Daaji. Daaji touched the feet of Swami Chinna Jeeyar ji in a mark of honor and respect. All the guests then proceeded to the press conference. Many spiritual leaders from different organizations joined the press conference.

The Hon'ble Minister of Culture of India, Shri G. Kishan Reddy, gave an outline of the coming events, feeling extremely proud of the proceedings being organized under his directives by his able and efficient staff. He has been regularly visiting Kanha Shanti Vanam, which has induced him to choose it as the venue to host this global event.

Daaji said that it was the noble work of Swami Vivekananda that inspired this conference. Daaji spoke about how he was deeply influenced by Shri Ramakrishna Paramahansa during his early years. He reflected on the eloquent speech on September 11, 1893, in Chicago at the Parliament of All Religions by Swami Vivekananda, emphasizing the dream that remained unfulfilled for 130 years. He said that all religions should lead to the same goal. Daaji pondered on the lessons learned from the roles of religions throughout history and expressed concern over how religions, or so-called religions, have been successful in dividing humanity rather than uniting it. He stressed the importance of individuals embodying the principles of various religions to serve the common purpose of peace and harmony.

Daaji highlighted the need for people to come together, emphasising the futility of continuing to dream and fight over ideological differences. He mentioned the upcoming event where representatives from various paths would exchange ideas on achieving individual peace and creating societal harmony. Daaji lamented how terrorists are well-united in their destructive pursuits, contrasting it with the fragmented nature of spiritual and religious communities.

He expressed gratitude towards the Ministry of Culture for their efforts to facilitate dialogue and collaboration among different paths. Daaji advocated for mutual respect, trust, and love among individuals and emphasised that religions are meant to serve humanity and that spirituality is meant to unite people. He urged for collective action to prevent various forms of pollution, both environmental and mental, and emphasised the importance of leading a lifestyle rooted in peace and harmony.

Tridandi Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji said that the event is a step forward in uniting the world. The initiative to bring all religions and spiritual leaders together and pave the way for universal peace is commendable. "Each religion and each spiritual entity may have one or two particular aspects. However, the objective of all is almost the same," he added.

Swami Bodhamayananda of Ramakrishna Math and Mission termed the event a universal spiritual union. He said, “It is not about religion. The word religion is used in English. That is why misunderstandings are increasing.” Going further, he added, "We need to understand these three aspects of religion: dharma and philosophy. The divinity in us should be reflected in our thoughts and actions.” Around 300 spiritual teachers coming from a hundred countries is a great thing, adding, "Swami Vivekananda's message was to conquer the world with spirituality. For this, both human effort and divine grace have to happen for the results to come. Hon’ble Kishan Reddy ji said that culture and spirituality are the soft powers of the country. With this, India is showing a positive path in the world.”

Terming India's spiritual diversity as unique in the world, he said, "Today, the whole world has enthusiastically embraced our Indian practice of physical and mental health, which is yoga: make meditation a part of daily life for mental peace. Millions of people around the world are trying to understand the Indian knowledge system, paving the way for `Spiritual Tourism' to develop very rapidly in recent times.” He said that the event is taking place following a suggestion by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to organize an event of spiritual significance for world peace by bringing the essence of all religions in the world into one place.

He stated that it is very much in line, “With the theme of `Vasudhaiva Kudumbakam'—One World, One Family—chosen by India for the G20 meetings held last year under the auspices of India.”

All the spiritual leaders then joined for the photo session. Daaji then gave a few bytes to the news channel and then returned to the room to meet with a famous Telangana actor, Shri Victory Venkatesh, who was waiting for him. He then recorded a sound byte for the promotion of GSM. Daaji reached home in the late afternoon and went to rest.

Dr Ram Narayan Pandey, a bamboo scientist, visited Kanha and spent considerable time with Daaji in the evening, discussing the various possibilities and avenues for using bamboo as an alternate material. He explained in great detail how different species of bamboo are used for different purposes, such as construction, paneling, furniture, and such. Specializing in sourcing, growing, harvesting, and utilising the best quality of bamboo, Dr Pandey has worked with many renowned architects and designers in India who use bamboo in their projects.

He proposed to help make multiple structures out of bamboo at Kanha Shanti Vanam and in other ashrams across India. Daaji was very excited about the prospects of using bamboo as a construction material and assured Dr. Pandey that Heartfulness would widely promote the alternate construction material.

Daaji then took Dr Pandey around for a walk and gave him a glimpse of the different varieties of bamboo grown in Kanha. The thickness of one species of bamboo grown at Kanha was measured during the walk, and Dr. Pandey ascertained that this species could be immediately used for making plant support stakes and trellis.

After the walk, the discussion continued over dinner, and before bidding adieu, Dr. Pandey assured that he would be back from his base in Assam to start interesting new projects involving bamboo usage in construction and interiors at Kanha Shanti Vanam.
