Kanha Shantivanam 13th March 2024

The Global Spiritual Mahotsav is just about to begin and many guests and keynote speakers have started arriving at Kanha Shanti Vanam while the ashram is getting prepared for the event.

In the evening, a few of the keynote speakers attending the conference from various organisations who had arrived in Kanha were invited for dinner with Daaji. Around 7.50 p.m., Daaji came and met many of them for the first time. He gave a warm welcome to all. He welcomed Pir Ziya Inayat Khan with a warm embrace. He was very pleased to meet Raja Luis Alvarez of the Transcendental Meditation Group once again. Sofia Stil-Rever, who created the International Day of Consciousness in the United Nations, was also present, as was the spouse of Pir Ziya Inayat Khan, named Sartaj.

Kanha Shantivanam was abuzz with preparations for the upcoming Global Spiritual Mahotsav, being organised by the Ministry of Culture and Heartfulness.

In the morning, around 10.45 a.m., many people visited Daaji’s home to meet him. Daaji conducted the meditation for them.

Daaji took Pir Zia and showed him the Lalaji Maharaj statue, which is installed in the main entrance of his home. He told Pir about the connection between Lalaji Maharaj and sufism. Daaji then met all of the guests in the living room. Dr Rollin McCraty from the HeartMath gave the Heartmath Coherence Measurement device and a book on ‘Heart Intelligence’ to Daaji. Pir presented the book ‘Caravan of Souls: An Introduction to the Sufi Path of Hazrat Inayat Khan’, which was compiled and edited by him, to Daaji. Daaji has read the works of Hazrat Inayat Khan, who hails from Baroda, which is very close to Daaji’s own birthplace near Bharuch. The mystical writings of the great Sufi, have touched Daaji’s fine sensitivity of spiritual literature.

During dinner, the conversation at the table was easy and cordial, as several updates regarding the conference were shared with Daaji by Sanjay Sehgal.

After dinner, Flute Maestro Shashank Subramaniyam arrived. Daaji introduced him to all the guests present there and said that he will be performing the next day in the evening along with Shankar Mahadevan and Shri Ganesh Rajagopalan in a concert with Shankar Mahadevan.

From there, all of them proceeded to Daaji’s office. Dr. Rollin McCraty discussed with Daaji the research done by the HeartMath Institute and the device that was presented to Daaji. He showed Daaji how the results are presented using the graph on the application of the institute.

A little later, Daaji asked Rollin if he wanted to meditate and measure his coherence levels. He asked to connect the device, which had just been presented to Daaji. Meanwhile, many other guests from Gujarat came to meet Daaji. After meeting them all, Daaji walked everyone through the process of meditation and then conducted the meditation to all around 9.14 pm. After the meditation, Rollin said that it was a wonderful meditation and showed the results to Daaji, and Daaji was very happy to see the results as they seemed to match the work he had conducted in the sitting.

Dr. Rolin McCraty then presented his idea of measuring coherence using global consciousness devices connecting multiple Heartfulness centres in the world. This, he said, would create an energetic cluster measurement, which would be different from a physical measurement, which they are doing in more than a hundred locations around the world.

Daaji said that he would be very interested and would love to see the impact. Daaji said that once people realise the actual effect of the thoughts they have, they will process things differently and turn towards meditative practices very seriously. Dr. McCraty replied that the devices show how our heart radiations are measured in a way interacting with and changing with each other. This was followed by the idea of placing 9 devices in Kanha Shantivanam to measure the impact of the upcoming Bhandara in April, when thousands of people will meditate here together.

Daaji also recommended that we measure coherence when we give sittings. There are several different things that we do, and the abhyasi perceive them. Daaji said he had written down a few things he did in the meditation he had just conducted, such as clearing a certain tendency of a person and then substituting that tendency with a positive quality.

This process is taken up at every chakra. He said that it would be great to observe how the coherence quality will change depending on when the chakra is being cleaned and which tendency is being removed or increased.

So the coherence level of a person who is at the base level, or heart chakra, when moved to the atma chakra, which is the chakra of the soul, will have a different coherence level. He inferred that, from beginning to end, we may just not be able to imagine the level of coherence.

Daaji said he would like to try this, even for newcomers. Even a person who meditates for the first time feels better than those who merely study spirituality in the way of scholars. Daaji and Dr. McCraty discussed the technical aspects of this elusive but highly interesting field of research at a very advanced level for a while. Soon, the room began to fill up with more and more people. A person from Pune who reads auras with specially designed software took a photograph of Daaji to study his aura.

Someone remarked that it was getting late and maybe Daaji needed his rest given the coming events in the next few days, to which Daaji said that it hardly mattered because he did not really sleep in the nights and it was like waking up in some ways.

Pir Zia Inayat Khan took the opportunity to thank Daaji, saying, “Thank you so much. Thank you for this paradise that you've created here, I had a tour of it today. I've never seen anything like it in my life. The way that you have collected endangered trees and plants, the ways that you're creating healing arts, and this model vegetation that supports the body, mind, and heart. It's been a great joy to witness this. We're all praying for the fulfilment of your intention for the event this week. You brought us here and people all throughout the world are tuning in. Many will come in person, but others know about it and are seeking to enter into the coherence of it. I'm sure that you will reach many, many people through these efforts and fulfill those great things.

Daaji, in his signature humility, always deflecting any praise directed towards him, said, “The blessings are there already from above.” Referring to the Hierarchy of the Great Masters, he said, “ They are steering the wheels; we have to just cooperate. They are the actual doers. The Masters. It is beyond us. We have to work together. We are caught up in egos, saying I am better than you or that someone is useless. No one is useless. Even a small insect has its place. We have to assure the world that we are together. Often, I make the statement that if terrorists can come together and work, then why not religious people? Unfortunately, even if the feelings of

togetherness are present, we never have the time to come together. But somewhere, we must make a beginning. Let's take on some projects that will force us to work together. Like, say, planting trees in some selected places. We can have some sports activities, such as building a beautiful sports stadium for children. We can make a zoo for children. We can build colleges. Various groups can come together to do this.”

Daaji distributed some cookies towards 10 pm, much to the delight of those present, and then he bid everyone goodnight.
