Kanha Shantivanam 10th March 2024

After the meditation, Brother Alberto Lafranchi, who is the director of the International Heartfulness Scholars program, gave a short introduction about the group that has undergone training these past few weeks in Kanha. Daaji then distributed certificates to each one with his own hands.

Daaji remarked that it was good to have the presence of the esteemed Minister of Culture of India, Sri G. Kishen Reddy, and other representatives from various religious communities. The essence of the gathering, Daaji conveyed, will be centered around fostering dialogue and collaboration to promote peace and harmony between religious communities. Reflections on various faiths will be shared, highlighting their respective teachings and virtues. Daaji further said that the future legacy of Sahaj Marg and Heartfulness will carry a special emphasis on unifying diverse religions’ ideals and values.

Daaji conducted the morning meditation from 8.56 am to 9.30 am in the North Dining Hall, as the main meditation hall is in preparation for the upcoming mega event of the Global Spirituality Mahotsav. Along with the Heartfulness practitioners, around 300 members of the Akshardham group, part of the Swami Narayan Organization were also present for the meditation session.

Daaji spoke later, expressing that he had been to the press conference the day earlier on the Global Spirituality Mahotsav, which was to be held from the 14th to the 17th of March.

He remarked that it was good to have the presence of the esteemed Minister of Culture of India, Sri G. Kishen Reddy, and other representatives from various religious communities. He said that during the press conference, an invitation was extended to all to participate in the global spiritual festival, which would soon be coming up, and emphasized the importance of extending the spirit of unity beyond the designated timeframe of the conference. In addition, Daaji expressed gratitude for the collaborative spirit demonstrated by participants from diverse backgrounds in the press conference.

While leaving the hall, Daaji then met Atmachintan Swami and Swami Vimalmuni from the Swaminarayan Sanstha. Daaji also named a newborn baby boy ‘Vimal’ just before getting into his car.

The talk given by Daaji can be watched using the link below:

In the afternoon, Daaji invited Shri R.C. Agarwal and a few other guests for lunch. After lunch, they all had a discussion on various initiatives in Daaji’s office before they all took leave from Daaji. Shri R.C. Agarwal has been a key factor behind several initiatives that have been launched successfully with India’s Ministry of Agriculture and the Heartfulness Institute. His broad smile and enthusiasm have ensured him a great reception among the teams of heartfulness. He has instituted several seminars in Kanha for the various teams from his department of research in agriculture, as well as organized an all-India Agriculture University youth mahotsav in Kanha earlier. When Daaji visited Delhi, R.C. Agarwal organized a special function in his institute to congratulate Daaji on receiving the Padma Bhushan award, which he had been conferred with at that time by the Government of India.

The evening after the walk, Daaji joined the Zoom call with the American Telugu Association and the Youth Seminar participants from Monroe, NJ. Daaji invited the students from Shenandoah University to join the session from his residence. Daaji answered a few questions from the American Telugu Association and the Youth Seminar participants before he conducted the meditation around 9.03 pm for everyone online and present with him.

After the call, Daaji then spoke with the students from Shenandoah University, including professors Gina Daddario and Kimberly Newberry;  Staff:  Josh McLean; Grad students: Caitlin Andersen and Jaedyn Olson; students: Elizabeth Corbin, Virgilio Vazquez, Bryce Hough; Vivienne Gianneschi, Caitlin Orender, and Aurora Padilla-Jimenez. As each one introduced himself or herself to Daaji, he took a keen interest in asking for further details. One of them was a Spanish professor, one a pre-law student, yet another a pharmacy student, another one a nursing student,  one of them a physician, one of them working as a research student at the university, one a media marketing expert, and one of them teaching psychology. Such a myriad collection of professions, and yet all of them were a happy bunch learning how to meditate with Daaji.

While discussing with the pharmacy student, Daaji explained how he had been inspired to create the special throat spray, which is now a star product of Hearty Culture at Kanha. He spoke of another breakthrough with an ointment.

Daaji explained that his idea for it came from the case studies where the industry had used the side effects of medicine to an advantage. He recalled how in the 80’s they had this blood pressure pill called Lonitan by Abjon.

The generic name for it was Minoxidil. Whenever patients were given this for high blood pressure complaints, they also noticed rapid hair growth. Even women would experience facial hair growth and would come to the pharmacist wondering what had happened. So the company took advantage of it and promoted it as a hair growth formulation. Daaji was bemused that likewise, there had been an incident where women with breast cancer found that their case of psoriasis, had they had one, got cured by the formulation that they were being given to cure their cancer.

So Daaji said that he ended up making an ointment out of it instead of taking it orally by adding gabapentin so that one doesn't keep scratching. Gabapentin is what soothes your skin. So it heals faster. Likewise, he had developed another three formulations for fissures. In the US, there is not a single formulation for fissure treatment. A standard remedy is to say that either you use preparation H, go for surgery, or use some steroids.

And the third one Daaji described was a breakthrough he had made for diabetic neuropathy. “Most diabetics,"  he said, “would end up having this symptom after about 10 to 15 years of contracting diabetes. Their extremities will start tingling. In chronic cases, as soon as you wake up from the morning and you want to walk, you will feel as if you are walking on a bed of nails. It will be so painful because the nerves are exposed. See what happens to the grapes in the sugar solution. It will burst. That, a similar thing happens when there is a high level of sugar in the blood, and it gets spread out between the intercellular space and the nerve endings that are exposed to it and begins to deteriorate. They remain exposed, and as the pain starts, the burning starts. When it happens in the feet, it's called neuropathy of the feet. Likewise, when it happens in the eyes, most diabetic people may also lose their eyesight. The nerve endings are being damaged. Likewise, cardiomyopathy and nephropathy. And most males also end up damaging their nerves enough to lose potency—what we call impotence in male-related neuropathy.” In a rare moment of revelations on his professional achievements, Daaji continued, “I developed something for the feet. Gabapentin, Etodolac, and Lidocaine, three combinations. These combinations are not there. Doctors would end up ordering compounds. But there is no ready-made formulation. We have made it now, and it's going through hospital trials.”

Then Daaji spoke to them about Brighter Minds. He encouraged them all to train for it while they were here in Kanha, especially the person who was a professor of psychology.

He explained that it enhances your intuition. He said, “In medicine, we all know which part of the brain is associated with memory. Thinking, seeing, and smelling—all those centers are well recognized. But science has yet to find which center is associated with intuition. Then you'll be able to see the difference between male and female brains.”.

After a short, light discussion on their plans to tour India and visit the cultural and tourist sights, Daaji then asked them how long they were staying in Kanha and invited them all for dinner the next day at 7 pm. Daaji then took leave from everyone.
