Kanha Shantivanam 23rd May 2023

A few members of the youth team came to meet Daaji and present him with a brochure of the Youth Seminar's recent activities.A little lad from Madurai, who had been waiting outside the home for Daaji, joined them and wished him.Daaji thereafter became preoccupied with talks with Kanha's architects.Daaji went to the Karela (bitter gourd) farm in the evening and provided inputs on the Moringa and Karela farm fields.

While walking to his car, Daaji saw one of the workers and called him to inquire if they had dinner. The labourer replied, 'no'. Visibly concerned, he told them that going forward if they worked till late hours, to let them know in advance so they could plan dinner for them. Then he asked how much longer they planned to work. The worker mentioned they would wrap up in half an hour.
At around 9.20 am that morning, a few members of the youth team came to meet Daaji and present him with a booklet of the recent proceedings of the Youth Seminar held from 12 to 14 May 2023. A young boy from Madurai who had eagerly been waiting outside the house to meet Daaji, also came in with them and wished him. Daaji lovingly called him forward, asked his name (Giridhar) and then took a picture with him. At the time of leaving the boy said “poren” (meaning I take your leave, in Tamil) to which Daaji replied, “poitu vaanga” (meaning come back again, in Tamil). This sweet and affectionate exchange between the hearts was a treat to behold! Daaji then got busy with meetings with the architects of Kanha. He took them to the Star Building, inspected the area and asked them to prepare some good designs for it.
In the evening, Daaji went to the Karela (bitter gourd) farm and provided inputs on the Moringa and Karela farm fields. While walking around the fields, he suggested an area for Bamboo plantation, another area for Coconut, and in between the two plantation areas (Bamboo and Coconut), create spaces for cultivation. While walking, Daaji asked the team to keep a watch during monsoons, on the flow of water in certain areas. He returned home soon thereafter and was informed of the progress of the work taking place in the site behind Madhuvanam.
After dinner, Daaji stepped out around 9.15 pm to visit the plantation work near Madhuvanam. Some construction work is going on in Daaji’s house, which has picked up pace with the labour force working late into the evening. With the heat rising, they are trying to accomplish more in the evening, thereby avoiding the afternoon heat. While walking to his car, Daaji saw one of the workers and called him to inquire if they had had dinner. The labourer replied, 'no'. Visibly concerned, he told them that going forward if they worked till late hours, to let them know in advance so they could plan dinner for them. Then he asked how much longer they planned to work. The worker mentioned they would wrap up in half an hour. After inspecting the work progressing near Madhuvanam, Daaji returned home. He observed that the workers were still going strong and instructed Br. Kannan to provide the workers some water and dates. His humility in compassion is a lesson to learn.
