Kanha Shantivanam 16th May 2023
Daaji started his day with an early morning walk. He expressed his satisfaction at the abundant agricultural output while walking. As the monsoons approached, Daaji strolled around the vegetable producing area, telling the employees to keep the compost ready for all the trees in the ashram's numerous woodlands. Daaji requested that the Marula plant be given as a gift to the President of India (Smt. Droupadi Murmu ji) for planting in Delhi because the fruit of the plant is thought to aid in monkey capture. After the debates were completed, Daaji led a meditation session. IPS (retired) Dr. Karthikeyan has joined Daaji. A fascinating discussion ensued on a number of topics, including novel integrative medical options and exceptional non-profit organisations.
In the evening, Daaji went for another evening walk and proceeded to meet a few practitioners at his house. He then asked about a particular boy in Atlanta and was told that it was the boy’s birthday that day. The group of practitioners was left wondering: was it intuition or coincidence? So many wonderful, subtle events occur around Daaji. He then went on to call the boy from Atlanta and inform him that he had a girl in mind for him to marry when he visits Kanha in September this year. The involvement, love, and care with which he held the conversation were wonderful for the practitioners to witness.
Daaji started the day with a morning walk at 6.40 a.m. While walking, he suggested that the Kanha-grown karela (bitter gourd) powder be sent across multiple centres to be sold. The group of associates who were accompanying him agreed to do so.
Upon reaching the small onion field recently planted in Gokul Point, Daaji expressed his happiness to see the abundant yield of the harvest. He then walked over to the tomato field, which was also recently planted in Gokul Point, and finally stopped at the phalsa (Indian Sherbet Berry) field to taste some fruits.
Today, Daaji chose a different route to walk than the usual, routine path and was happy to see the different varieties of flora during the walk. He stopped near a tree and inquired about its details. The in-house plant support team informed him that the tree was from the Hydnocarpus family, from which oil can be extracted and used for medicinal purposes.
Further on, Daaji found a spot and informed the team that it was "a very nice spot." One of the associates informed him that the place was full of Vitex trifolia plants, which naturally keep mosquitoes away and help to keep the area a mosquito-free zone.
Daaji walked around the vegetable cultivation area and instructed the team to keep the compost ready for all the trees across the several forests in the ashram, as the monsoons were soon approaching and this would be an ideal time to enrich the flora across Kanha Shanti Vanam.
On his way back to the house, Daaji suggested that the Marula plant be sent as a gift to the President of India (Smt. Droupadi Murmu ji) for planting in Delhi, as the fruit of the plant is known to help capture monkeys easily.
Later in the day, Daaji was busy with meetings. During a meeting, he learned about the sudden demise of an old, long-time associate and offered a prayer for the departed soul.
‘Daaji’s life is an expression of love and care for all. His days are filled with spiritual movement-related work, visitors, and numerous projects. His activities are, in a way, an expression of Wisdom Bridge itself!
After the meetings, Daaji spent time with his eldest granddaughter, Devki, sitting in one of the offices and helping her learn numbers. He gets involved with the learning process as frequently as possible.’
Another practitioner presented a Farsi calligraphy of Lalaji’s quote of the Persian couplet, ‘I became you and you became me...", which was sent to Daaji by one of the practitioners in Atlanta. Daaji accepted the token of love and instructed the team on how to display the gift so that it remains in view.
This was followed by a wonderful sitting. Time stands still during these meditation sessions with Daaji, and one feels transported to a different dimension that is so enticing that it is hard to come back.
After the meditation, Daaji returned to his room and worked on his computer for a while. He even created a grid for his granddaughter to learn about numbers, which she was delighted with.
After some time, Dr. Karthikeyan, IPS (Rtd.), joined Daaji. A riveting conversation ensued on several topics, such as new integrated medicine options, non-profit organisations that were doing great work and making a difference in environmental concerns, and ways to protect Mother Earth. Dr. Karthikeyan said a lot of great things about the Wellness Centre in Kanha and predicted that it would attract many visitors to Kanha. He had been reading Daaji’s book, The Wisdom Bridge, and appreciated the simple language and succinct ideas presented there.
This was followed by dinner. A question was posed to Daaji during dinner about humility and love; Daaji said, "Love without humility becomes ‘Dwaita," or dualistic; for it to become ‘Adwaita," or non-dualistic, humility is essential."
After dinner, Daaji presented another copy of the Wisdom Bridge book with his signature to Dr. Karthikeyan, who was very happy to receive the book from Daaji.
At the end of the day, Daaji walked his visitors to the gate to see them off and bid them goodbye. Memories of such evenings will live in hearts, and the stories will be told many times to inspire other hearts.
