Kanha Shantivanam 10th May 2023

Daaji's day started with a morning stroll with a few associates, during which he instructed them to build the 'floating hydroponics project' outside the meditation hall. Daaji also asked them to adopt the same agricultural methods as those used in the Gokul Point Hydroponics project. Daaji had appointments with IFFCO (IFFCO Tokio General Insurance) representatives and butterfly specialist Dr. M.S. Sai Reddy, who was invited to provide advice on creating a butterfly conservatory centre in Kanha. The group fell into a vigorous conversation on a variety of themes, including projects planned in Madhya Pradesh, seed weed cultivation, and so on.

Prakriti (nature) wants you to evolve faster and it provides circumstances. Luxury is not the right circumstance for you to progress spiritually. It works exactly the opposite, having some level of, you know, resistance, prepares you if you accept it. If you don't accept it, then it will work against you.
The day began with Daaji taking a walk with a few associates who were performing support work for the plants in Gokul Point around 7.30 a.m. Daaji emerged from his room and said, "Come, we will go for a walk." While walking, Daaji asked the team of associates to install the ‘floating hydroponics project’ near the meditation hall so that it could serve as a demonstration for the numerous guests who visit Kanha Shanti Vanam (Kanha). He also asked them to implement the same farming methods that were used in the hydroponics project at Gokul Point. As they continued walking, Daaji observed that certain branches of trees needed pruning and asked that the pruning be done during the first rains of the monsoon. Daaji then asked the associates to repack a few plants that were growing on their own in the wooded area. These plants turned out to be wild figs. Daaji instructed the team to use the wild figs to craft another fig tree.   Further into the forest, the group came upon a dead dog. Daaji gazed at the animal for a few minutes and then asked for it to be buried there.   Daaji and the team of associates returned to Gokul Point shortly.
Daaji attended some meetings on the upcoming construction work with the internal team. Apart from these, Daaji turned down other meeting requests through the first half of the day and expressed his desire to remain alone. Daaji then shared ‘Dwaita, Advaita, Vishishta Advaita, and Beyond’ and said, "This has been on my mind. It’s important to discuss these ideas and reflect on the spiritual journey from religion to spirituality to reality to bliss and beyond." In a discussion about his availability for some of the upcoming events in Kanha, Daaji said, "Don’t count on my availability." Speaking further on this, he said, "We have a wonderful space and a great environment, and those who can pause and go within leave enriched."
In the evening, Daaji had some appointments with a butterfly expert and had guests coming in from IFFCO (IFFCO Tokio General Insurance). Daaji arrived at the meditation hall office around 4.20 p.m. Dr. M.S. Sai Reddy, Assistant Professor and Butterfly Expert, who was invited to provide his advisory on establishing a butterfly conservatory centre in Kanha, met Daaji after a daylong survey around Kanha and briefed him about his observations and recommendations. He said that there is a good diversity of butterflies in the gardens, which is due to the abundant availability of diverse nectar plants in the Yatra Garden. However, he noticed that the butterfly population density was very low, which could be due to the non-availability of certain essential elements for their multiplication. Dr. Reddy then went on to recommend two parallel activities: 1) enriching the native diversity of butterflies across the Yatra Garden by making a few essential yet minor changes; and 2) developing a new site for the butterfly conservation centre, for which Daaji suggested an area near the Kanha Sarovar. Daaji was happy to meet Dr. Reddy and learn some interesting facts about butterflies. During a discussion on the upcoming book "Initiation’, Daaji suggested how the cover and logo designs should be and suggested some changes in the current designs.
After some time, IFFCO Marketing Director, Delhi, Yogendra Kumar, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Central Agricultural University, Pusa, Bihar, and a few other guests arrived at the office and met Daaji. He welcomed them and was happy to meet them. When Yogendra ji told Daaji that he was grateful and joyful to meet him in person and felt blessed in his presence, Daaji said, "My whole morning I have been sitting in the chair and I just, I don't know, at the moment and I had no worries. But still, I was just inactive—absolutely inactive—for hours together. And then, when I heard you were already here, I said, "Now I have to get up and quickly get ready!" The group settled into a lively discussion across several topics, including seed weed cultivation, nanopesticides, neem tree plantation, tissue culture, saffron cultivation, and more. During the discussion, Daaji mentioned the issue of neem tree diseases and how the neem trees in Telangana were getting affected, to which Dr. Reddy gave some quick suggestions on how to reduce the symptoms. Daaji promptly asked the team to implement these suggestions without delay. The discussion continued on to projects planned in the state of Madhya Pradesh, in Ratlam and Shivgarh, and to the Ektam Abhiyan. This led to Yogendra Ji’s pledge that he would donate 50k neem plants for the upcoming biodiverse forest in MP. The conversation turned to Arjun Agarwal, a brother who was present there, and Daaji said that he had called Arjun to Kanha as soon as he heard that Yogendra Ji was coming. To this, Yogendra ji replied that he had called Arjun and told him not to come as his mother was unwell and he was busy taking care of her. Daaji then said, "But there is nothing he can do. She is in a very bad state. She has been the best in the family among all these males and females and everyone. God has a strange way of picking the best. She is struggling a lot. Best in the sense that her spiritual search is very genuine, very authentic."  Yogendra ji: Then why is she suffering like this? Daaji: That's why.  Yogendra ji: That’s why? … So sometimes good things are also bad? Daaji: Not really. See, Prakriti (nature) wants you to evolve faster, and it provides the circumstances. Luxury is not the right circumstance for you to progress spiritually. It works exactly the opposite; having some level of, you know, resistance prepares you if you accept it. If you don't accept it, then it will work against you. There is a very critical story about this on Narad Muni. Narad Muni is having a dialogue with Lord Krishna. He says, ‘In this village, there are two families. One family was completely dependent on their cow, whereas the other was a rich king. We met both families in disguise. You blessed the king with more wealth and an expanded kingdom. But to the poor family with only one cow, you said, May this cow die.’ You know that story. Narad couldn’t understand. He asked the Lord, ‘You know, the one who is really, really, really after you, loving you, why are you killing their absolute dependence?’ Lord Krishna replied, ‘Because this person is totally dependent on their cow, and the cow is the only thing standing in between me and my bhakta. So, I removed it.’ So, there are strange ways. There are stories to tell us that nothing should come between us. Even if you have the slightest desire, the Lord will be there to fulfil your desires, but it only delays your further journey. Jo mil jata hai, le lo (take whatever you get), you know, don't keep on, you know. Yogendra ji: But you know, whatever we can do to help her, we should do. Daaji: That is our duty. I think in such situations, everyone gets tested. And despite having so many difficulties, if you can remain in touch with Ishwar (God), that is your sure and accelerated path to liberation. Instant. I mean, there is no coming back.  Yogendra ji: But now she's feeling a lot of pain, and so on. Daaji: That will be there, and we just need to keep praying. The topic then shifted towards meditation, where Yogendra ji said he was unable to do the practise regularly and would be able to give more time to it after his retirement. To this, Daaji said, "There’s no such thing. I've seen the entire spectrum of life. I did it masterfully with this practise. Doing the pharmacy business, I did it wonderfully. Raising children, having a wife—nothing stopped my practise." Yogendra Ji said that the efficiency of every person is different. Daaji replied, saying, "If you want to do it, then nothing can stop you. The worst situation was his bua (aunt, pointing to Arjun), Draupadi Devi Agrawal. She is the one who gave me the three introductory courses when I was in college. It is worth knowing that after she started meditation with Babuji Maharaj, she got married and came to live with her in-laws. Her mother-in-law told her that in their house, meditation was not allowed. Initially, Draupadi Devi would do it stealthily in her bedroom, meditating in the morning and doing cleaning in the evening. But her husband would get upset. He would say, ‘What is this? You have started meditating and cleaning.’ He didn’t like it. So, what could she do? So, she used to get up earlier than everyone else and lie down in her bed and meditate under the blanket. And to do the cleaning in the evening, she would go into the washroom, throw water around the bathroom using a couple of buckets, and pretend that she was cleaning it, but she would sit on the floor and do her cleaning. So, I keep sharing this with everybody; whoever wants to meditate, no man in this world can stop him. It just requires Josh (Zeal) to know that I will do it under any circumstances. And God likes such people. Then, more and more grace will come. The more resistance there is, the more circumstances will get difficult as we move on further and further. It's a test. But whoever is moving forward doesn’t feel that it is a test, and those who listen to the stories keep thinking, yes, it was such a difficult situation for them. Whoever’s going through it will not know because he has accepted it joyfully. That is mastering the resistance. Who are unable to accept, keeps thinking that it is resistance and there are a lot of difficulties. And the actual point is that there was no problem in the first place. Well, our Guru ji used to say that whoever wants to practise, nobody can stop it. To do it, you need only one reason. To not do it, you need thousands of reasons, such as your wife doesn’t let you do it, or the TV is always on, or there’s a lot of work, etc."
Later, many guests and seekers started pouring into the room to meet Daaji. Babu Yalamanchili’s family invited Daaji for a mango harvesting event on their farm near Kanha Sarovar. Daaji said that he would try to come and then asked the family to invite a few kids from the school (THLC students from Kanha) and his grandchildren for the harvesting and said, "Let all the children enjoy the harvesting." Later, Daaji took leave of everyone present and was on his way to the car when one sister insisted that she wanted to go with him to MP whenever he went, to which Daaji said that it was better if she went to MP right away and helped in the work there instead of thinking to go with him, thus demonstrating that people need not bother him by asking to travel with him. To everyone’s surprise, Daaji went to Babu Yalamanchili’s farm for the harvesting and spent some time there before heading back home.
Around 8:55 pm, when Daaji was with his oldest granddaughter, Devaki, all it needed was a sentence: "Okay, it’s time to sleep," and without any protest, Devaki wished her grandpa the sweetest good night and walked back to her room. Those present enjoyed yet another moment of love-filled instruction containing wisdom and guidance on how to speak to children. After some time, Daaji spoke about spiritual conditions and their importance and said, "The Master gives us conditions. It is up to us to crystallise those conditions and make them our nature." Responding to some dialogue on carrying the condition and working with it, he emphasised again, "The key is to make the condition a part of your nature. The problem is the filter of samskaras. So, it’s like a competition between your samskaras and the conditions. It’s up to us to make sure the right side wins." A while later, Daaji retired for the day and went to bed.
